Log carriages

The operator control the slabber on the numerical keypad of the multi-axis setting system

PRINCIPLE

  • OPTILOG 3-D consists with one PC, one multiaxis setwork with touch screen, 3-D sensors and one optimizing software in real time based on 25 years of experience in primary breakdown. 3-D sensors are mounted parallel to the saw line at log deck level. Each one features 2 cameras and multiple lasers.
  • CDD cameras collect instantaneous profiles at 30 cm spacing and complete them while the fast carriage's travel to the saw and give a real 3-D profile with all irregularities of the log on the front side of the log to the PC.
  • The PC console digitalizes the profile of the log and computes instantaneously the length, the opening face and the taper for the first alignment to the saw line.
  • From these data, the MUDATA setting system aligns automatically the log to the saw on a opening face previously programmed by the operator or automatically computed by the optimizing software.
  • At log turning the log is one more time rescanned to determinate the second profile according the new front face.

PRINCIPLE

  • OPTILOG 2-D consists with one multiaxis setwork with touch screen, connected with a MUDATA scanning system integrating one optimizing software in real time and a light curtain. The light curtain is mounted parallel to the saw line at log deck level.
  • The log, after dogging, moves automatically through the light curtain. The profile of the log is analysed instantaneous by occultation of each cell.
  • The MUDATA scanning system digitalizes the profile of the log and computes instantaneously the length, the opening face and the taper for the first alignment to the saw line.
  • From these datas, the MUDATA setting system aligns automatically the log to the saw on a opening face previously programmed by the operator or automatically computed by the optimizing software.
  • At log turning the log is one more time rescanned to determinate the second profile according the new front face.
